The Korea Academy of Science and Technology, a science and technology academic institution, announced the 12th that it had elected 26 members of the ‘2022 Young Korean Academy of Science and Technology (Y-KAST)’ who conducts outstanding research results and will lead the future of Korean science and technology.
Launched in 2017, Y-KAST is conducting policy activities and overseas academic exchange projects led by young scientists under the age of 45. After obtaining a doctoral degree, the achievements made as independent researchers in Korea are evaluated with emphasis, and a young next-generation science and technology leader with outstanding academic achievements and high potential to contribute to the development of science and technology in Korea is finally selected. The term of office for members elected by Y-KAST in 2023 is 3 years from January 2023, and the average age is 39.4 years old.
Among them, Professor Yun Seog Lee of our Faculty was named ase of the 11 newly appointed members of the Department of Engineering.
Ook-jun Yu, director of the Academy, said, "Y-KAST will support young scientists at home and abroad to express their voices and present new ideas for R&D innovation."
