Professor Yoon Young Kim of the Department of Mechanical Engineering recognized as a world-class researcher and leader in the field of applied mechanics was selected as a "Distinguished Professor" at Seoul National University in 2021.
Seoul National University's Distinguished Professor is selected to support education and research activities by appointing domestic and internationally renowned personnel at home and abroad with outstanding research achievements or social activities, and three distinguished professors were selected from all universities.
A distinguished professor at Seoul National University is defined as 1) a person who has received a Nobel Prize or an international academic award equivalent to it, 2) a person who has been awarded a prize awarded by an international organization for outstanding achievements for the development of human society, 3) a person who has achieved outstanding academic achievements who has been engaged in a specialized field for more than 10 years, and has high character and virtue, 4) In addition, those who are recognized by the Distinguished Professor Committee as having qualifications as a distinguished professor are eligible for appointment.
