Professor Byeng Dong Youn, a professor of mechanical engineering at Seoul National University, has been appointed as a Senior Review Editor for Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization, an international English journal published by Springer Publishing since September 2021. First published in 1989, Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization is recognized worldwide in the field of optimal design, with impact factor and Rank of 4.542 12.96% (mechanics field), respectively, based JCR. Professor Byeng Dong Youn expressed his ambition to further enhance the status of the journal by combining artificial intelligence-based design and new research trends such as digital twins while maintaining the journal's tradition.
