[Award] Prof. Kang, Yeon June’s Lab — Student Lee Jeong hyeop Receives the 2025 STI Engineering Student Paper Award
Paper Title: Optimal Conditions of Driving Sounds including Concentration, using the Attention Network Test, and the Feasibility of Personalized Optimal Driving Sound Recommendations (Journal of the Acoustical Society of Korea, Vol. 44, No. 3)
About the Award:
The Acoustical Society of Korea (ASK)–STI Engineering Student Paper Award is an academic award presented to student first authors of outstanding papers published in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of Korea within the most recent year. The award aims to identify and encourage excellent research achievements in acoustics at an early stage, and to support the growth and scholarly activities of the next generation of researchers.
Summary:
This study investigated how the acoustic characteristics of driving sounds influence attention by using the Attention Network Test (ANT). ANT was conducted under different driving-sound conditions, and the collected data were scored to show that specific subcomponents of attention are affected by acoustic characteristics. The study also confirmed the feasibility of a model that recommends optimal driving sounds tailored to individual characteristics.
