1. 제 목 : Numerical Investigation of Oblique Detonation Waves
for a Schramjet Combustor
2. 연 사 : Dr. Giovanni Fusina (Defence Research and Development Canada)
3. 일 시 : 2004년 3월 2일 (화) 14:00 - 16:00
4. 장 소 : 서울대 신공학관(301동) 117호 세미나실
5. 내 용 :
The diffusive burning supersonic combustion ramjet (scramjet) is one of the most common hypersonic airbreathing propulsion concepts but its long and massive combustor could have detrimental effects on its efficiency. To overcome this difficulty, the shock-induced combustion ramjet (shcramjet) uses standing oblique detonation waves (coupled shock-combustion fronts in a hypersonic flow of a combustible mixture) as a means of nearly instantaneous heat addition. A numerical investigation of standing oblique detonation waves (ODW) for their use in shcramjet propulsion is the main purpose of this investigation. The stability of the ODW to inhomogeneities in the oncoming fuel/air mixture is assessed through time-accurate simulations by artificially introducing small disturbances consisting of pure air just upstream of the ODW structure. Further, steady-state simulations are carried out to determine the effect of laminar boundary layers on ODW structures and properties in the overdriven (above the Chapman-Jouguet point) and underdriven (below the Chapman-Jouguet point) regimes.
