1. 제 목 : A Note On Limitation of Computer Simulation For Two-Phase Heat Transfer Systems
2. 연 사 : Professor Emeritus Y. Lee (이 영 명예교수)
Department of Mechanical Engineering
University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada
3. 일 시 : 1999년 9월 9일 (목) 16:00 - 17:00
4. 장 소 : 301동 1512호
5. 내 용 :
A purely analytical solution is not possible at the moment for two-phase heat transfer systems because of the complex two-phase fluid flow involved. In general, the heat transfer of a two-phase flow depends on a great number of variables and this fact, together with a great number of different two-phase flow patterns, hinders the construction of an adequate physical model of the process. For the analytical simulation of any two-phase system, a large number of empirical correlations are needed. It will be demonstrated, citing six (6) studies on two-phase closed and loop thermosyphons (60 to 100,000 watts) that a computer simulation alone could not, for the moment, give any meaningful quantitative results for two-phase heat transfer systems unless it is accompanied with some experimental programs, implying that no simulation code should be developed for any two-phase heat transfer system without a benchmark experimental verification.
