SNU Department of Mechanical Engineering Successfully Hosts STAR Lecture

As part of the STAR Lecture series, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University hosted a lecture by Professor Michael Dickey from NC State University (USA) on Thursday, May 15, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM in Room 118 of Building 301. The topic of the lecture was "Shaping a Soft Future". The lecture illuminated the development potential and application cases of future-oriented soft devices using flexible materials, in contrast to rigid electronic devices.
Professor Dickey introduced the properties of tissue-like materials such as gallium-based liquid metals and discussed fabrication techniques for electronic circuits. He engaged in in-depth discussions with the audience on the implementation of flexible, human-friendly electronic devices. The event was met with an enthusiastic response from the audience, including undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty members.
This STAR Lecture served as a valuable opportunity to examine the latest research trends in soft-material-based technologies. It also showcased the emerging technological paradigm enabled by advanced materials.
