The College of Engineering at Seoul National University (hereinafter referred to as “Seoul Engineering”) selected four recipients for the 2025 “Proud Engineering Alumni Award” and held the award ceremony on April 2. Among the awardees was Dong-wook Lee, president and CEO of HD Hyundai Site Solution, who graduated from the Department of Mechanical Design Engineering in 1983.

The “Proud Engineering Alumni Award,” established in 1993 and now in its 32nd year, is presented to alumni who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of industrial technology or achieved significant academic accomplishments, thereby enhancing the university’s reputation. To date, a total of 117 alumni have received the award across domestic and international categories.

After graduating from the Department of Mechanical Design Engineering (now the Department of Mechanical Engineering), Dong-wook Lee made significant contributions at HD Hyundai Infracore, leading efforts in the commercialization of technologies in the construction machinery field. Most recently, he has driven meaningful changes across the industry through innovative activities such as demonstrations of unmanned and automated construction sites, playing a crucial role in the digital transformation of the field.

In his congratulatory remarks, Dean Young-Oh Kim stated, “Seoul Engineering has continuously produced engineering talents capable of turning imagination into reality and transforming the world,” and added, “We pay tribute to the passion and dedication of our four proud alumni who have led their industries.” He also emphasized the vision of Seoul Engineering, “Going forward, Seoul Engineering will actively identify and promote the accomplishments of our alumni”.
