Prof. Min, Kyoungdoug Appointed Chair of the Future Mobility Committee by the National Academy of Engineering of Korea

Professor Min Kyoungdoug of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University has been appointed as the chair of the newly launched Future Mobility Committee by the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK). The committee was established to explore innovation strategies for Korea’s mobility industry and to propose measures for building a sustainable future mobility paradigm.


The NAEK held a launch ceremony for the committee on February 13, 2025, at El Tower in Seocho-gu, Seoul, under the theme “Rebuilding Future Mobility: A Paradigm for Innovative and Sustainable Mobility.” As chair, Professor Min will lead discussions alongside nine of the nation’s top experts to develop strategies aimed at enhancing the global competitiveness of Korea’s mobility sector.

In addition to Professor Min, the committee includes prominent figures such as Yong-Wha Kim, Advisor at Hyundai Motor Company; Koo Ja-Kyum, Chairman and CEO of NVH Korea; Sung Yung-Eun, Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Seoul National University; and Heo Kunsoo, Professor of Automotive Engineering at Hanyang University.

“I will do my utmost to ensure that this committee plays a main role in driving sustainable innovation and strengthening the global competitiveness of Korea’s mobility industry,” said Professor Min.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University is expected to take a leading role in the development of future mobility technologies and industrial innovation following the launch of this committee.
