Prof. Kim, Ho-Young, Prof. Park, Frank Chongwoo, Selected as Regular Members of the National Academy of Science and Technology

The Korean Academy of Science and Technology has selected its regular members for 2025. The academy announced on the 2nd that it elected 36 regular members for 2025 at the second general assembly of 2024, held on November 29th. The average age of this year’s 36 selected members is 54.5 years. The youngest member is 46 years old. Among the selected members, three female scientists were included.
The academy stated that regular members are selected through a rigorous three-stage evaluation process. Candidates must have been active in the field of science and technology for over 20 years, have demonstrated original research achievements and have made significant contributions to the advancement of their respective fields.
Professors Kim Ho-young and Park Jong-woo from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University have been honored with this prestigious selection. Both professors have been recognized for their exceptional contributions to their respective research fields and for making significant impacts on the academic community both domestically and internationally. Professor Kim Ho-young has continued to make outstanding advancements in fluid mechanics and biomimetic engineering, while Professor Park Jong-woo has achieved global recognition for his groundbreaking research in the field of robotics.
