"H&A Business Unit – Seoul National University Department of Mechanical Engineering" Industry-Academia Collaboration Workshop
On May 23rd, LG Electronics H&A Business Unit and Seoul National University Department of Mechanical Engineering held an industry-academia collaboration workshop at Building 301, Seoul National University.
Fifteen participants from Seoul National University Department of Mechanical Engineering, including Professor Kim Min-soo from LG Electronics and Professor Kim Ho-young, department head, attended. From the H&A Business Unit, nine representatives including the H&A Research Center Director, Technology Strategy Manager, Component Solutions Research Center Director, Application Technology Research Center Director, and heads of respective business unit advanced research laboratories were present.
During the laboratory tour, technologies and experiments from a total of 10 labs, including those for refrigeration systems and control experiments, were introduced and discussed. Subsequently, during dinner, discussions focused on collaboration opportunities such as joint industry-academia research and securing outstanding talent (new hires and industry-funded scholarship students).
Director Oh Se-gi commented, "We appreciate the opportunity to directly observe the research conducted at the university, and we look forward to expanding collaboration to build a stronger industry-academia relationship." Professor Kim Min-soo of Seoul National University responded, "Based on strengthened industry-academia collaboration, we will strive for technological advancement and talent acquisition within the business unit."
