Dr. Jieun Yang of our department appointed as an engineering professor at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands

Dr. Jieun Yang of our department is a professor at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, a world-class engineering school.
She was appointed as a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Marine Materials Engineering. Accordingly, Dr. Yang Ji-eun will serve as an assistant professor from July this year.

According to the 2023 QS World University Rankings, Delft University of Technology ranks close to MIT in the United States in mechanical engineering,
It is ranked third in the world after Stanford. Professor Jieun Yang is the first Korean to receive a degree in Korea and be appointed as a professor at Delft University of Technology. Professor Yang has received attention for her research reducing noise and vibration using metamaterials, and is expected to lead global research in this field.

Meanwhile, Professor Yang obtained a bachelor's degree from our school in 2010 and then a doctorate from the same university in 2016 (advisor Kim Yun-young). Afterwards, she worked at Samsung Electronics and worked as an assistant professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands.
