The Metafarmers team of Professor Sung-Hoon Ahn's laboratory in our department won the first prize in many start-up competitions campus.

On November 24, the Seoul National University Venture Management Entrepreneur Center held the 2022 Startup Convention Entrepreneurship Contest. This start-up contest, hosted by the Center for Venture Management and Entrepreneurship and sponsored by KRAFTON, aims to discover start-up teams produced by the Venture Management and Entrepreneurship Center and start-up teams campus to support practical activities for excellent start-up teams. This start-up competition was held in two tracks, general venture and social venture. Recruitment was conducted in early November, and a total of 8 teams were selected for the final presentation through document screening.
As a result of the screening, the Metafarmers team of the Department of Mechanical Engineering's Innovative Design and Integrated Manufacturing Lab (Advisor: Professor Sung-Hoon Ahn), as the best team in the general venture sector, won the first prize and received 10 million won in prize money. Founded by Kyu-Hwa Lee, Won-Jae Yoon, Do-Hyeon Kim, and Ye Jin Yu, the Metafarmers team developed smart farm remote agricultural robots and solutions using self-developed artificial intelligence and robot automation technology, solving the labor shortage in rural areas with this technology and further realize precision agriculture.
