Titled “Energy Localization and Harvesting Using a Defect Mode of Phonic Crystals,” the thesis was commended for its analysis of how defect bands are formed through the process of locally destroying the periodicity of elastic metamaterial by obtaining defects in the inside of elastic metamaterial. It was also acknowledged for providing suggestions on the localization of wave energy by using mechanical resonance from defects and high-density power energy harvesting technology.
