Professor Suk Won Cha’s (Photo) research team (Ph.D. students Ik Hwan Jang, Joon Ho Park) of our faculty revealed on the 21^st that they have developed the world’s first nano-metal catalyst stabilizing technology using intelligent oxides. <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Nano particles, which are commonly used as catalysts in many different industries, have a tendency to group together due to their lightweight agility and large surface area. Additionally, metal catalysts such as nano-metal catalysts have a higher tendency to group together, sometimes losing its capabilities as a catalysts. The team formed a barrier around this particles using intelligent oxides thereby effectively reducing the grouping tendencies.
