Our faculty’s innovative design and integrated manufacturing lab (Guidance Professor Sung-Hoon Ahn) and George Washington University’s Energy Efficiency Laboratory (Guidance Professor Stephen Hsu) set up and signed an agreement for international collaboration last 14th of August 2015, promoting collaborative research on energy and nano materials and exchange student programs.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Back in 2013, 2 graduates students (Hyun-Taek Lee, Sung Yong Kim and undergrad Jae Yong Song  were already visiting George Washington University on long terms to research on insulation using phase change materials and through this agreement, the Energy Efficiency Laboratory will be providing research funds to the innovative design and integrated manufacturing lab every year for a research visit, to add to the sustenance of the collaborative research already in place.

Professor Stephen Hsu worked in NIST for 30 years and is an expert in material surfaces. Through this collaborative research, MAE students will be able to use the world’s best NIST equipment for research.
