Ph.D. Hyeon Seok Oh of the system health and risk management lab (Guidance Professor Byeng Dong Youn) has claimed the Asian Society for Structural and multidisciplinary Optimization (ASSMO) Young Scientist Award (YSA) in the recent Asian Congress of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization (ACSMO) held in Nagasaki, Japan on the 22nd to the 26th of May 2016. The journal titled” Classification of Statistical Model Validation Problems Considering the Nature of Uncertainty” has been recognized for its unique subject and excellence in the preliminary judging. Ph.D. Hyeon Seok Oh claimed the YSA prize after the presentation judging.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

There are many variables of uncertainty following the prediction of engineering systems. Environment, nature, materials, production. If uncertainties within these processes are not taken into consideration, accurate prediction of motion in engineering systems becomes impossible. The exemplary part of this research was setting parameters for uncertainty for the invention of a statistical model validation and formulating the cross checking problems of the analyzed model, and set the standard for statistical model validation.
