[Graduate School] 2022 2nd semester Master's and Doctoral Dissertation (Thesis for Preservation) Submission Guidelines (~2/6)

1. Upload the file of approved document (final thesis) without signature & certified document (approved document ONLY) with signature

- When uploading, the final dissertation should include a confirmation sheet withly the names of the reviewers without signatures, and the signed approval sheet should be uploaded as the last attachment (Both must be uploaded within the deadline to be recognized as thesis submission)


1) Final thesis (signature the document for approval X)

2) Confirmation paper (signature O)

 

2. No replacement/modification

- Once submitted, thesis cannot be modified/replaced for any reason.


 

3. Approval date and submission date for both those who extended the examination last semester and those who did not submit the thesis for preservation are based the current semester (refer to thesis preparation guidelines)

- As the certificate itself is the basis for conferring a degree, if you write and submit the date of confirmation as the previous semester, it can misunderstand the graduation date. So, even if you have already received the approval sheet as of last semester, you should get it again as of this semester.

 

4. Request for review of the contents of the approval sheet

- One’s degree, affiliation (Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering or Department of Mechanical Engineering), author's name, date of submission/approval, etc.


 

① Master's degree (Doctor’s degree)

* Notes when filling out the cover page and approval sheet

- The month the outer cover is “February 2023”

- In the part “This thesis was submitted as an OOO master’s (doctoral) degree dissertation” cover page (approval sheet), “October 2022” is correct

- The part “Approved OOO’s master’s (doctoral) dissertation” cover page (approved paper), “December 2022” is correct

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 due to the concentration of the central library, the final approved thesis (thesis for preservation) for master's and doctoral degrees is replaced by the submission of the online PDF original file.

 

* Thesis submission schedule

1. Submit the thesis online (PDF original file)

1) Submission Period: 2023.1.20 (Fri) ~ 2.6 (Mon) 17:00 <Cannot submit/modify after the deadline>

2) Submission method: Click [Online Submission Shortcut] the website of the Central Library (http://library.snu.ac.kr/) -> "Library Service" -> "Submission of Degree thesis" page and upload it from the relevant site (http://dcollection.snu.ac.kr/)).

(Required consent to the use of the original dissertation)

 

2. Administrative Office of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Building 301, Room 116)

1) Submission period: 2023.1.30 (Mon) ~ 2.6 (Mon) 18:00 (Note: Faculty office is not operated due to the Academic Council Jan. 26-27)

2) Documents to be submitted

A. Online Submission Confirmation

- Can be printed after submitting the original  online file


* If there is an unreturned book or overdue fee, it can be printedly when it is completed.

B. Documents related to the thesis

- Copy of thesis cover, copy of approval sheet (original submission), copy of the first page of the body (Introduction part), abstract (English or Korean)

* Printe copy of each and submit

C. Evidence related to the judges' intention to approve (if the signature is replaced with an image file, etc.)

- Submit a printed copy of evidence (e-mail, etc.) to confirm the judge's intention to approve it.

D. Paper plagiarism prevention documents

- Within 9% of the Turnitin result sheet (print the page with the similarity index %)

Excluding citations, excluding references (on settings) / If your journal is high, indicate the corresponding % and submit


 

 

❍ When submitting the thesis online, be sure to include the confirmation page in the original document file.

❍ When submitting a dissertation, the text file must include a confirmation sheet without the signatures (or seals) of the reviewers, and the confirmation sheet with the signatures (or seals) of the reviewers must be scanned and uploaded as a separate file.

❍ If there is evidence (e-mail, etc.) that can confirm the judge's intention to approve, the handwritten signature or seal of the member can be replaced with an attached signature file.

Example) If three out of five judges have their handwritten signatures and the other two have their signature files attached, there must be evidence for each of the two judges with the signature file attached.

❍ After submitting the thesis, submit the online thesis submission confirmation and approval paper (original copy) to the department office before the thesis submission period ends.

 

3. Precautions

- Measures for non-submissions: Exclusion from degree conferment

- The thesis title and thesis writing language must be written at the time of submitting the thesis review result documents.
