Professor Min-Soo Kim of our department won the Peter Ritter von Rittinger International Heat Pump Award at the 14th Heat Pump Conference (HPC) hosted by the International Energy Agency (IEA).

The award is named after Austrian Peter Ritter von Rittinger, who designed and installed the first practical heat pump system in 1856, and is awarded every three years to those who have contributed greatly to the development of heat pump technology since its first award at the 8th IEA Heat Pump Conference in 2005.

Professor Min-Soo Kim published a number of international-level research papers related to heat pumps, nurtured talented people, contributed to the development of high-efficiency heat pump technology, and served as the former organizing chairman of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Heat Pump Conference. He received the above award in recognition of its great contribution to international cooperation through the activities of the International Refrigeration Organization (IIR) General Assembly, Steering Committee, and Executive Committee activities.
