Seoul National University’s On December 4th, College of Engineering (Dean: Kookheon Char) announced that Professor Kyoungdoug Min of Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering has been selected as SAE International Fellow.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

 

Prof. Min was recognized for his significant academic contributions to next generation combustion systems area, as well as research contributions to the development of virtual NOx sensors, dual fuel combustion, GDI engine, and analysis of diesel engine combustion and its combustion effluents.

 

Prof. Min completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s at SNU Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, and received his PhD degree from MIT. After a year of completing the post-doc program, he conducted research on gasoline engines for two years at the Daimler-Benz Research Center, located in Stuttgart, Germany. He has been teaching as a Professor at SNU Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering since March 1997, as well as contributing to the Korean automobile industry by working on various academia-industry collaborations.

 

SAE International, comprised of more than 12,800 members around the world, is the most prestigious academic society in the area of automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicles. Fellows, the highest grade of membership, are selected according to excellent individual contributions, technological research, and leadership in the area of expertise. In 2018, 12 Fellows were selected from SAE members. Since 1977, a total of 424 Fellow members have been appointed. Prof. Kyoungdoug Min is the third Korean member of SAE to become a Fellow.
