Masters student Seongmin Jang of Professor Maenghyo Cho’s Smart Structures and Design Lab has claimed the Best Paper Award in the 2014 COSEIK Annual Conference held in the Global Plaza, Kyung Book University with the research submitted last year titled “Fully Associated Multiscale Analysis Methodology for Stress-Diffusion for battery electrode design.”<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The above paper analyzed stress generation mechanisms based on lithium concentration distributions on battery electrodes during charging/discharging and suggested a Fully Associated finite element based Multiscale Analysis Methodology for Stress-Diffusion to analyze and design the aforementioned situation.

The paper was published December special edition of the COSEIK symposium.
