SNU Mechanics is holding 2022 Robot Contest as an open event. The contest is a part of the Creative Engineering Design, a required course for 1st year Mechanics. The course has been continued for 30 years since the late Professor Chu Chong Nam has initiated in 1993.

4:30-5:30 Robot Contest (quarterfinal, semifinal, the final competition)

* Creative Engineering Design (Course No. 400.018.)
The class offers opportunity for freshmen to perform a practical and interesting engineering design project under restrictions of material, tools and time. The main project requests students to design and fabricate a mechanical device with provided materials and tools. Students demonstrate their mechanical devices 12th week and join the main project competition 13th week.
* The Late Professor CHU Chong Nam (1956-2019)
Professor Chu Chong Nam earned his B.S. in Mechanics from Seoul National University. He continued his study at MIT where he received the master's and doctoral degree in Mechanics. He was appointed as assistant professor at Purdue University and promoted to associate professor. He joined Seoul National University faculty in 1992 and served as professor in mechanics until his sudden death in 2019.
