5. 내 용 : In this two-part seminar, an introduction to methods from geometry, particularly algebraic and differential geometry, will be presented, and their applications to the kinematic analysis and synthesis of mechanisms discussed. The first part of the seminar will address basic topics on coordinates, the representation of geometric objects (linear objects, Grassmannians, duality, linear objects in higher dimensional spaces, and nonlinear objects), and transformations (rotations, shear, reflections, affine transformations, projective transformations, non-Euclidean transformations, projections. In the second part of the seminar, application of geometric techniques to the following problems will be discussed: direct kinematics of Stewart-Gough platforms, architecture singularities and self-motions of platform manipulators, the kinematic image of serial 3R chains, the inverse kinematics of general 6R manipulators, and general applications to mechanism synthesis.
