In this seminar, recent development in the refrigeration components will be discussed. In order to evaluate the performance of each component of the system, precise measurement is required and this seminar will give some insights for the evaluation. Traditional and new techniques for measuring coefficient of performance (COP) will be dealt with. Also, the PIV technique to analyze the air movement in the refrigerator will be shown. One of the key component is the compressor, therefore, optimization technique for improving the compressor’s performance will be discussed considering the lubrication and the leakage between the piston and cylinder.
