1. 제 목 : Advanced Modeling Techniques for New Commercial Engines
2. 연 사 : Dr. Chae-myung Rhie
(Pratt & Whitney Fellow in CFD )
3. 일 시 : 2002년 7월 22일 (월) 16:00 - 17:00
4. 장 소 : 서울대 신공학관(301동) 1512호 세미나실
5. 내 용 :
The status of today's aero design technologies will be reviewed with historical perspectives. The impact of CFD modeling on commercial engine evolution and economic consequences will be discussed. Lessons learned from both technical and cultural perspectives will be discussed. Presentation will be concluded with future projections.
6. 약 력 :
Dr. Chae-myung Rhie, Pratt & Whitney Fellow in CFD, is primarily responsible for P&W's CFD technologies. His recent focus was on the CFD modeling technologies for multistage compressors and combustors. He has 20 years of experience to develop and apply CFD technologies into the design of aerodynamic components for turbo machinery and space propulsion devices.
Attended Seoul National University for BS and graduated with engineering PhD degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1981. Has worked in developing CFD technologies for a wide range of applications since he joined P&W in 1984 after Allison. He is best known for "Rhie and Chow" scheme in the field of pressure based methods.
