In this seminar, Draper Robotics and Miniature Electronics Systems will be introduced by Dr. Kang.
Dr. Kang joined the Draper Laboratory in July 1988. He managed the Draper Intelligent Unmanned Vehicle Center since 1994. Other roles include task leader for design of micro-mechanical sensors and derivation of the flexible multi-body dynamics model for evaluation of the automatic control system for the Hughes HS-601 satellite and the Space Station simulations. He performed research work in simulation of automated composite manufacturing. He has supervised over 25 MIT graduate students researching in micro-mechanical devices, analysis of large space structures, and unmanned vehicles.
Dr. Kang is the chairman of AIAA Space Automation & Robotics Technical Committee and a member of IFAC Intelligent Autonomous Vehicles Technical Committee.
