The research in the field of DNA origami, which began in 2006, involves arranging short strands of DNA composed of specific bases along the long strands of DNA, depending the folding pattern, to realize various shapes. While traditional DNA origami allowed foldinglyce, Professor Kim Donyeon discovered a new operating method through modeling the DNA structure after folding the paper. This method facilitates changes in various factors such as acidity (pH), light, and nucleic acid molecules. It was mentioned that this technology can create structures applicable to systems for drug delivery or biosensors for early cancer detection.
