Seoul National University College of Engineering (Dean Yu-Seok Hong, hereinafter SNU COE) announced the 20th that it had selected six professors from SNU COE as winners of the 2022 Shinyang Engineering Academic Award.

For the 2022 Shinyang Engineering Academic Award, two winners were selected from the education field, three from the academic studies, ande winner from the industry-university cooperation field. The winners are ▲ Professor Do Hyungrok of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the field of education, Professor Geon-Soo Park of the Department of Industrial Engineering, ▲ Professor Joon-sang Do of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Professor Seong-jae Kim of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Professor Yu Kang of the Department of Computer Science and Technology, and ▲ Professor Jong-hoon Woo of the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in the field of Industry-University Cooperation.

SNU COE Dean Yu-Seok Hong said, “The College of Engineering has been continuously developing and reaching current’s position thanks to the hard work that has been achieved in difficult environments both inside and outside the country.” I think today's Shinyang Engineering Academic Award Ceremony is a very meaningful award that engraves new challenges and social contributions of engineering."

The Shinyang Engineering Academic Award is an award given to professors with outstanding achievements among young professors under the age of 49 who are promoted to full professor or associate professor at SNU COE. It has been in operation since 2005 with donations from the late Chairman Jeong Seok-kyu of the Shinyang Cultural Foundation, an alumnus of the College of Engineering at Seoul National University and founder of Taesung Rubber Chemical.
