[Edaily] SNU Creates ‘Heui Jae Pahk Creative Space’ for Students’ Business Ventures

[Edaily, Kyung-rae Kang] On March 16th, Seoul National University announced that it will open the ‘Heui Jae Pahk Creative Space’ to support the entrepreneurial activities of Engineering undergraduate and graduate students.
The Heui Jae Pahk Creative Space was created by the funds from Prof. Heui Jae Pahk of Mechanical Engineering. Prof. Pahk founded SNU Precision in 1998, the first university lab startup, reaching #1 in 3D measuring machines for display and semiconductor manufacturing. Prof. Pahk has also received Higher Doctorate in Engineering from his alma mater, University of Manchester.
During the process of SNU Precision going public the KOSDAQ, Prof. Pahk donated 100 shares (8 billion won) of his company to SNU College of Engineering. “I have set up this space with the hope that students will learn to develop their capacities and break into the global market, contributing to national economy.”
The opening event of the Heui Jae Pahk Creative Space will be held at 3PM March 18th the first floor of Building 301, SNU College of Engineering.
