Professor Frank Chongwoo Park of Seoul National University’s Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering has been elected as the 24th President of the Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).



The term will be from January 1st, 2022 to December 31st, 2023. He will be serving as President-Elect from 2020 until the start of his term.



Founded in 1984, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society is the 5th largest among the 46 professional societies under IEEE, consisting of approximately 15,000 members from around the world.



Prof. Park’s research interests include robot planning and control. He also worked as Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Robotics journal from 2013 to 2018.
