Seoul National University announced that Professor Kyung Woo Yi (Education award), Professor Maeng Hyo Cho (Academic award), and Professor Young June Park (Academic-Industrial cooperation award).

The 'Excellent Engineering Professor' award was established in July 1992 as a fund for the 15th alumni of the College of Engineering in order to promote the research activities of professors at Seoul National University and contribute to the advancement of industrial technology.

The education award is awarded to professors of engineering professions who are devoted to education in creative and progressive way. Professors are awarded to professors of engineering professors who have outstanding academic achievements.

Professor Kyung Woo Yi has continued to develop courses that can accommodate changes in materials engineering. In addition, effort is put in to increase the participation of students in the lectures by applying the active learning education technique to the major subject with interest in the education method. Also, they have contributed to the development of engineering education in Korea by participating in the Engineering Education Certification Center and the Engineering Education Society. Academic Award Winner Professor Maeng Hyo Cho of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department has contributed to human resource development and academic development through education and academic activities in the field of solid and structural mechanics. During the past 18 years, 31 Master and 30 Ph.D students were produced in this facility. In addition, Professor Cho has carried out a national research project and has pioneered the field of multi-scale computational mechanics that combines scales from solid and structural mechanics to over 210 papers published in eminent foreign journals. As a result of these researches, he has been awarded the 'Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers' Award,' '100 Best in Science and Technology,' and 'Science and Technology Award in the Month.'
