After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in SNU Mechanical Engineering in 1997, Masters and Doctorate degrees from Stanford University’s Mechanical Engineering in 1999 and 2005 respectively, he worked as a post-doc researcher in the Combustion Research Facility (CRF) of the Sandia National Labs in America from 2005 to 2008. He was employed as a Lead Professional Engineer of General Electric’s (GE) Global Research Center (GRC) from 2008 to 2016 before being employed as an assistant professor of SNU Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in September 2016.
His main field of research is new-age aircraft engines, gas turbines for generating electricity, highly efficient environmentally friendly car engines, turbulence flow in air mixed with particulates and others of flow in energy and environment. He research goals are developing a technology to 3-dimensionally visualize the distribution of coolants within turbines and distributions of fuel concentration and temperature using the latest technology such as optics measurements using lasers, medical MRI machines and thermal cameras, and creating an applicable industrial value in future industries and environmental problems. <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
