The Seoul Mate team comprised of Jeongwook Lee (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Class of 08) and Kyo Eun Gu (Liberal Arts Class of 12) claimed 2^nd prize in the College Students’ Creative Energy Management Idea Competition for Implementations in Smart Cities – Go Green in the City (Competition from 15. 02. 2014 – 21. 06. 2014, Korea Finals 28. 02) during the Korea Finals.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The competition hosted by the French global energy management corporation Schneider Electric is looking for various ideas to implement in smart cities which will first go through a round of national finals before moving on to the Global Finals.

Seoul Mate, which claimed 2^nd in this competition overhauls the existing central heating/cooling system in buildings to implement energy recycling ideas such as water heating and was commended for their presentation on the system’s faults, plausibility, economics, sustainability and other factors.
