Global Solar Volunteer Corps Install Renewable Energy Generator in Rural China

The Global Solar Volunteer Corps of our faculty (Previously known as Nepal Solar Volunteer Corps) returned after installing a hybrid generator at Feng Cheng located in the Liaoning province last 27th to 30th November.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The generator comprised of a 2.5KW solar panels and 3KW wind generator, and uses a grid tie method which connects it to the nation’s power lines. The generated electricity was used for heating the poultry farm and lighting up LEDs, helping the wild of the farmhouse. The results of the research will be used as a preliminary material for developing the farming lands of North Korea after unification, Nepal, India and Southeast Asia, and funding was provided by the NRF.

Participants of this activity included Professor Sung-Hoon Ahn (Head), Dr. Kyung Tae Lee (BK21 Post-Doc), Ph.D. Student Yan Jun, New Ph.D. student Young Jun Jung (Above Innovative Design and Integrated Manufacturing Lab, Chinese Exchange Student) and 10 locals, and collaboration research will be done in partnership with the Sheng Yang Agricultural University’s Professor Team.
