Dr. Hae-Sung Yoon of Professor Sung-Hoon Ahn뭩 innovative design and integrated manufacturing lab has been selected as a Research Affiliate of The International Academy for Production Engineering, (CIRP, http://cirp.net/) last August. <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

CIRP is a global academy leading in manufacturing processes, management of equipment and systems, control and optimization and design research

CIRP members are elected after a strict worldwide screening and consists of 170 Fellow Members, 130 Associate Members, 149 Corporate Members and 100 Research Affiliates and anyone who has completed or has at least 3 years of the doctorate course is eligible to be a candidate of the position for Research Affiliate, a program with the aim to continuously produce young researchers with outstanding research results.

Dr. Hae-Sung Yoon, who was selected by recommendation of Professor Dong Yeol Yang of KAIST, was the third Research Affiliate to be selected from Korea, and will now be qualifies to independently participate in CIRP Competitions. He plans to use this opportunity for global academic exchange with other institutes.
