Masters student Joohyoung Lee of professor Hyungmin Park’s multiphase flow and flow visualization laboratory has claimed the excellent journal award with the paper titled “Flow structure due to interaction between vertical walls and bubbles that rise due to vibrations” in the 2015 Fall KSME conference.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The research used a poly phase particle video speedometer to visualize the surroundings of a bubble rising due to vibrations near a vertical wall, and analyzed the effects of wall on the movement of the bubble. Also, the research confirmed the bubble’s slipstream vortex effect on the horizontal movement of the bubble. The research was commended for the excellent explanation of complex movement of a bubble.
