Ph.D. candidates OH Junyoung and Woo Jeongwoo from the Acoustics and Vibration Research Lab at the Seoul National University's Department of Mechanical Engineering, under the guidance of Professor Kang, Yeon June, were awarded the Excellent Presentation Award at the 2024 Spring Conference of the Korean Society for Acoustics and the 39th Underwater Acoustics Society Conference. Their research was recognized for its original and outstanding contributions to academic and technological advancement.
OH Junyoung's paper, titled "Enhancing Active Noise Control Performance on Road Surfaces via Real-Time Secondary Path Update Based on Deep Learning," proposed a method to update real-time transfer functions based on dynamically changing head positions using a deep learning model. This approach was acknowledged for its potential to continuously improve active noise control on road surfaces.
Woo Jeongwoo's paper, "Neural Network-Based Model Study for Predicting Vibration Characteristics of Electric Brake Systems Using q-Axis Current," suggested predicting the dynamic characteristics of systems by utilizing q-axis current generated during motor operation, aiming to prevent manufacturing defects and minimize user discomfort. This research was noted for its innovative approach and practical implications in industry.
