Dr. Amy Kyungwon Han obtained a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA in 2012, and a master's and doctoral degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University, USA in 2015 and 2020, respectively. She worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University since 2020. She is starting as an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University in March 2022.

Her main research area is robot/device design and production, and she focuses developing various mechanisms, actuators, and sensors applicable to the medical field. Examples include lightweight and low energy consumption artificial muscles, haptic technology, and stretchable sensors, with applications to haptic devices for teleoperated medical procedures, MR-compatible surgical robots, implantable devices that induce tissue growth, and cardiac assistive devices.
