The 2017 1^st Semester Multi-Major (Double Major/ Minor/ Union Major/ Interdepartmental Major/ Student Designed Major) selection plan is as follows. Interested students are to apply within the given time period.

- Application Method : Class of 2013 students and below are to apply to the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Offices, Class of 2014 students onwards are to apply at their respective faculty offices.

- Students currently taking Mechanical and Aerospace engineering may not apply

- Failure to meet selection criteria will result in rejection

▣ 2017 1^st Semester Multi-Major Selection Plans

○    Selection Types : Double Major, Union Major, Minor, Interdepartmental Major, Student Designed Major

○    Application Period
- Double, Union Major : 2017. 1. 31. (Tue) ~ 2. 6. (Mon)
* Interviews for Double Major will be held on 2017. 2. 7. (Tue) ~ 2. 15. (Wed). Schedule will be announced at a later date.
- Minor, Interdepartmental Major, Student Designed Major : 2017. 2. 13. (Mon) ~ 2. 17. (Fri)

○    Application Method
- Portal (my.snu.ac.kr) > Academic Affairs > Change Student Status > Change Status > Request to Set Major/ Program > Students are to apply on their own accord
(From 2014 2^nd Semester onwards, all applications will be computerized. Students need not submit paper application forms. However, for Student Designed Majors Students are still required to both apply online and submit a paper application for approval)

▣  『Undergrad Major Regulations』 Main Information

○    Types of Majors : Double Major, Union Major, Minor, Interdepartmental Major, Student Designed Major

○    Application Criteria
- Common Criteria : Students (Inclusive of Students planning to return to school) currently attending school who have completed at least 3 regular semesters and received at least 36 credits
※ For Minor, Students who have entered the school earlier that 2007 may apply with 33 credits
- Requirements by Major
Union Major : No GPA limit but may be set by the Union Major Organizing Committee
Interdepartmental Major : Only for students of participating faculties currently attending school
Student Designed Major : Overall GPA of at least 3.3 (B+)

○    N.o. of Positions (Selection Limit)
- Double Major, Minor : Within the limit for 3^rd Year students by Faculty
- Union, Interdepartmental Major : Decided by the Union, Interdepartmental Major Organizing Committee after Approval by head.
※ Union, Interdepartmental Major Organizing Committee : Comprised of 3 or more professors from related faculties

○    Required Credits
- Students are to take the required credits by the faculty’s curriculum and any changes will follow the applicable faculty’s decision
1. Double, Union Major : At least 39 Credits (42 for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering )
2. Minor, Interdepartmental, Student Designed Major : At least 21 credits (24 for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering)

○    Extension for Attending Period
-Double Major, Union Major takers will be able to extend their attending period by 1 year.
※For Students who have entered the school before 2007, extension will be available for Minors as well.

○    Cancellations that follow with the cancellation of Majors (Major or Multi-Major)
- Upon cancellation of Double Major, Teaching Double Majors will be automatically cancelled
- Teaching double majors that comes with double majors will be automatically cancelled

○    Cancellation of Main Major for Liberal Arts
- Interdepartmental Majors Will Not be Cancelled.
(Initially related interdepartmental majors were automatically cancelled after a confirmation of participation by the participating majors but this will no longer be the case after an amendment)
- Teaching related to the Main Major will be cancelled.
