  • Combined MS/Ph.D. Students who had completed minimum 3 semesters and had earned 24 credits or more are recognized as a Ph.D. student.
    Seminar Course in ME : M2794.013300 Mechanical Engineering Seminar

※  Students may take graduate courses that are offered by other departments/divisions, even if not considered as major courses in their own departments/divisions, based on their academic advisors' recommendation and approval of the head of their own departments/divisions. In this case, course credits may be counted as major course credits up to half(1/2) of the required credits for program completion of pursuing degree minus no. of credits taken as Thesis & Seminar courses in ME. (e.g. for M.S. student if one takes 6 credits of Thesis/Seminar courses, he can only take (24-6)/2=9 credits from other departments/divisions (In the case for Ph.D. and Combined MS/Ph.D. students, substracted from 36 credits and 60 credits respectively).  Students may take up to six credits from the undergraduate program(also counts as the category of other departments/divisions), according to Article 71 Clause 2 of the university regulations. 

※ Students can only take a maximum of 12 credits per semester.

※ Graduate students must receive 3.0 or higher in overall GPA to complete coursework.

Ⓐ Required Courses - M1570.000300 Engineering Research Ethics and Writing Skills (2 credits)
- M2794.005200 Student Research Colloquium in Mechanical Engineering (1 credits)
※ Students may take the above 2 required courses ONCE during the Master's or Doctoral or Master’s & Doctoral or Combined MS/Ph.D. Program
Foreign students may substitute the above 2 courses by taking an additional  Graduate School Major course within Mechanical Engineering (of 3 credits).
※ Doctoral and Combined MS/Ph.D. Students need to take at lease 3 credits (3 subjects, 1 credits each) of the 'Seminar in Mechanical Engineering' courses. However, also in relation to this requirement, Foreign students may substitute the above seminar courses by taking an additional  Graduate School Major course within Mechanical Engineering (of 3 credits)
This means that in conclusion, Foreign students need to take an additional 6 credits in total as Mechanical Engineering subjects to substitute the above requirements (This substitute is allowed since those courses are only carried out in Korean).

Ⓐ Ⓑ Ⓒ requirements apply to students entered in 2014 and thereafter.
▣ Main Module : In principle, Students follow the module of your advisor. As an exception, students may change main module depending on the field of their Master's & Doctoral theses within 1st semester after entering.(submit change-of-main module group form)
♦ Students can take up to three ME Seminar(M2794.013300) Series (e.g., Robotics Seminar SP19, F20 and SP21) and use up to three credits for their graduation. This holds for the Integrated MS/PhD and PhD students only through not for MS students.) The ME Seminar course does not count for credit recognition of the MS course. Therefore, MS students should rather not take the ME Seminar courses unless one wants to take it regardless of credit recognition.
