We are pleased to announce the 2024 JHU-MechE Summer Internship program for rising seniors. This internship provides support for highly motivated undergraduate students from select institutions to spend up to 9 weeks during the summer after their 3rd year, interning with a research group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. The department has 33 faculty members who conduct world-class research in all major areas of mechanical engineering and mechanics, and the MechE graduate program at JHU was recently ranked #16 in the US.

Internship Details
• Start Date - May 28, 2024.
• Duration - 8-9 weeks
• Location - Homewood Campus, Baltimore USA.
• Housing & Meals - Arranged in JHU Dormitory.
• Total financial support including housing, meals and stipend - approximately $9000.

Eligibility
• Be at least 18 years of age by the time you start the internship.
• Be enrolled in an undergraduate program with relevance to the discipline of Mechanical Engineering. This includes but is not limited to Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Bioengineering, Marine/Ocean Engineering & Engineering Physics.
• Undergraduate students should have finished 3 years of full-time UG study by the start of the internship. Students in 5-year integrated Master's programs can also participate in this internship in the summer after their 4th year.
• Be able to travel to the US and complete an in-person internship lasting 8-9 consecutive weeks starting May 28, 2024.
Timeline
• Applications, including recommendations are due by November 1, 2023, 12:00 PM, US ET.
• Applicants might undergo further screening via Zoom interviews.
• Decisions are expected to be communicated by December 15, 2023.
