5. 내 용 :


1. The approximation of inviscid flux plays a crucial role in achieving accuracy and robustness of a numerical solution in CFD. Since 1980s, various upwind schemes have been introduced and have become a predominant approach now. In this presentation, we will first describe the motivation for which the AUSM scheme started in view of approximate Riemann solvers. And then, we will focus on two extensions of AUSM scheme, namely the low Mach number regime, and multiphase flows and show the recent development of the AUSM schemes in this regard. Moreover, applications of the schemes for realistic engineering problems will be given to demonstrate the reliability of the schemes.





2. In the analysis of complex geometry, choice of grid methodologies is very important to satisfy fast turnaround and accurate and reliable solution. Currently overset grid and unstructured grid schemes are the two mainstream approaches to deal with complicated geometries. However, each method has its own strengths and weaknesses. Hence, we propose a method to properly combine both structured and unstructured grids in order to maximize their respective strengths. In our approach, called DRAGON grid, structured meshes occupy a major portion of the domain and as a result, DRAGON grid preserves strengths of the overset grid, eliminates difficulties such as orphan points in the overset scheme, and enables grid communication in a fully conservative and consistent manner.
