[Qualifying Exam for Thesis Submission] Plan of Korean Language Exam for Foreign Students(Spring semester 2015)

2015학년도 1학기 석사, 박사 외국인 학생의 한국어시험 실시를 안내하오니, 외국인 학생 중 응시하고자 하는 학생은 첨부된 응시원서를 작성하여 학부사무실로 35()까지 제출하시기 바랍니다.

Students who are either native English speakers or from countries where English is the official language should take Korean Language exam for foreign language examination of Qualifying Examination for Thesis Submission. 

A written Korean exam will be held separately depending on the program(Master’s/Doctoral) and the field of study (humanities/social sciences/natural sciences/art).


If a foreign student takes a substitute course for Korean Language exam(Korean Language and Korean Culture 1, 2) during the regular semester or summer or winter session and receives a grade of "C-" or above or "S", he/she may be exempted from Korean Language exam. But the grade does not count as part of the completion credit.

Student who have failed to written Korean exam more than once can apply for the oral examination. 
Other foreign students may choose to take either Korean Language exam or English Certification. (TEPS or TOEFL score(minimum of 601 on TEPS or a minimum of 85 on TOEFL(IBT) will do.) The English score is recognized within 2 years only the record which acquires. If you have the TEPS or TOEFL score, you should submit the English Certification to our office.

Application period : March 2nd (Mon.) March 5th (Thu.) for only 4 days
Application place : Bldg. 301 Rm. 116 to Simryoung Park
Application document : You should submit attatched Form.(page 3) 
Korean Exam Date : March 20th (Fri.) 9:30 ~ 10:30
Korean Exam Location : to be announced (The exact place and time of the exam will be announced sooner.)
Acceptance Score : Students in master’s must receive score of 60 or higher, those in doctoral, score of 70 or higher.
